Our Review Methodology

How we test, score and rank online casinos for players in Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania – built on real-money testing, not marketing claims.

Last updated: June 2026

Why We Built a Strict Review Process

Hundreds of online casinos target African players, and it is hard to tell which are genuinely safe and fair. Drawing on our combined 18+ years working inside the iGaming industry on the operator side, we built a detailed, transparent process – so you do not have to guess.

How We Select Casinos to Review

A casino only enters our testing pipeline if it:

  • Holds a valid license (MGA, Curaçao, or a local African license) – and we state that license clearly on every review
  • Accepts players from Ghana, Uganda, or Tanzania
  • Supports the right local payment methods – MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash & AirtelTigo (Ghana), MTN & Airtel Money (Uganda), or M-Pesa, Airtel Money & Tigo Pesa (Tanzania)
  • Has a visible track record – typically 12+ months of operation

Who Does the Testing

We do not just rely on desk research. Local testers use each casino under real conditions, on mid-range Android phones and mobile data:

  • Kennedy Oni – Ghana (MTN MoMo & Telecel Cash)
  • Kunle Sikango – Uganda & Tanzania (M-Pesa, MTN & Airtel Money)

They create real accounts, make small real-money deposits, play the games, request a withdrawal, and document every step with screenshots and video.

Our Step-by-Step Testing Process

1. License & Security Check

We verify the license number with the issuing authority and check SSL encryption, company registration, data-protection policies, and built-in responsible-gambling tools.

2. Games & Software

We review the game library and providers (Evolution, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt and others), look for published RTPs, and check whether games are independently audited.

3. Payments & Withdrawal Testing

This is where most sites fall short. We deposit and withdraw using each country’s real local methods, time the actual payout, and note minimums, maximums and any hidden fees – and we keep the withdrawal receipt as proof. The Ghana casinos that clear this payout test with the quickest, cleanest cashouts are collected in our guide to the fast payout casinos in Ghana.

4. Bonuses & Fair Terms

We read the full terms – wagering requirements, game weighting, max-bet rules and withdrawal caps – and judge how realistic each bonus actually is. You can see how this plays out across brands in our guide to the best casino bonuses in Ghana.

5. Customer Support

We contact live chat, email and WhatsApp during local business hours, in English, and measure both response time and answer quality.

6. Mobile Experience

Because the vast majority of our readers play on phones, we test load speed, stability and navigation on real mid-range Android devices – not just desktop.

How We Score Casinos

Each casino is scored out of 10, weighted toward what matters most to local players – getting paid, on mobile, safely:

  • License & Trust – 25%
  • Payments & Withdrawals (local methods, payout speed, fees) – 25%
  • Mobile Experience – 15%
  • Games & Software – 15%
  • Bonuses & Fair Terms – 10%
  • Support & Reputation – 10%

Real Withdrawal Proof

Talk is cheap – so every full review includes a real mobile-money withdrawal screenshot with the payout time. It is proof that we actually cashed out, not just a claim. You will find these on our individual casino reviews as we publish them.

How Often We Update Reviews

We refresh reviews every 3-6 months, and immediately when something important changes – a new license, payment problems, or new bonus terms. Each review shows its last-updated date.

Editorial Independence

A casino’s score is based only on the criteria above – commercial relationships never change a score. As an affiliate site, partnerships may affect which casinos we feature and where they are placed, but never how they are tested or rated. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Responsible Gambling

We only feature licensed operators and promote safe play. You must be 18+ to gamble; if it stops being fun, set limits or take a break. See our Responsible Gambling page for help and resources.
