Best Betting Sites in Ghana 2026: Bookmakers and Betting Apps Tested
The best betting sites in Ghana pair a fair welcome bonus with sharp odds, deep football markets and fast Mobile Money or crypto payouts. We check each bookmaker against the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register, read the full bonus terms, compare odds, and register, deposit and, where the platform allows it, request a withdrawal on a real Android phone. Where a payout could not be completed, or could not be confirmed, the card below says so instead of quoting a time we did not measure.
Quick answer
The best betting site in Ghana is 1xBet (4.6 out of 5): it holds a Gaming Commission of Ghana sports betting licence, takes MTN MoMo and crypto in both directions, and is the only operator on this site whose withdrawal we have documented end to end, with a request time, a completion time and a reference number, in about ten minutes. Melbet (4.0) is the closest alternative and also appears on the Commission’s 2026 sports betting register. Of the six bookmakers tested here, three accept Mobile Money in cedis and three are crypto only, and only one has a payout we can evidence rather than estimate.

Up to 300% / GHS 5,500
1xBet is the most widely used bookmaker among Ghanaian bettors, with one of the deepest football offerings in the market, plus basketball, tennis, esports and 40+ other disciplines. New players can choose a sports welcome bonus of up to 300% on the first deposit, worth as much as GHS 5,500, and fund accounts in cedis with Mobile Money (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) or with crypto. Odds on top football markets are consistently competitive, and the live betting and accumulator tools are strong. On licensing it is the strongest name here on two separate counts. It is one of two operators on this page confirmed on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register, and it appears in both the sports betting and the online casino categories, which most brands do not manage. It also displays its licence number, GCSB26F1615T, under Clickwell Ghana Limited, which matters because the Commission’s live register publishes operator names only, with no licence numbers at all. And it is the only operator we rank whose payout we have documented end to end: we registered, deposited, requested a withdrawal and recorded the request time, the completion time and the reference number. It took about ten minutes.

★★★★☆4.0
1xBet’s sister brand · 40+ sports · acca boost
Sports Welcome
200% / GHS 3,100
Melbet shares much of 1xBet’s technology, so Ghanaian bettors get a similarly broad sportsbook, competitive odds and an accumulator boost, usually with a slightly different bonus structure. The sports welcome offer is a 200% match on the first deposit up to GHS 3,100 (wagering x8), with deposits and withdrawals in cedis via Mobile Money (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) and crypto also supported, both ways and commission free. On licensing, Melbet holds two positions that should not be confused: it appears on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register under sports betting, which is the licence that covers what this page is about, and it separately operates under Curacao Gaming Control Board licence OGL/2024/561/0554 through Pelican Entertainment B.V. It does not appear in the Commission’s online casino category, so its casino side sits on the offshore licence only. Two honest limits keep it at 4.0 rather than higher. We registered, deposited and submitted a withdrawal, but we never captured confirmation that it landed, so we publish no payout time for Melbet. And the site fails Google’s Core Web Vitals badly on a mid-range phone, with a support wait of about fifteen minutes on top.

Wild.io

★★★★☆3.7
Crypto only · 80+ sports · secondary sportsbook
Sports Welcome
100% / $200 Free Bet
Wild.io is primarily a crypto casino with a secondary sportsbook, so it suits bettors who already deal in crypto rather than those looking for a dedicated bookmaker. It covers 80+ sports and offers a 100% free-bet welcome up to $200 (code SPORTS, wagering x10, with minimum odds on qualifying bets), funded in USDT, Bitcoin or Litecoin with no Mobile Money at all. On payouts we can say this much and no more: our cashout request was accepted with no verification wall and we saw it clear shortly afterwards, but we never captured a timestamped confirmation, so we publish no payout time for Wild.io. The trade-off is real either way. It does not appear on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s register in any category, and its offshore position is weaker than the licence number alone suggests: it runs on Anjouan licence ALSI-202504044-FI2 under Stack Gaming Ltd, an authority the Comoros government says has no legal standing there, while a help page on Wild.io’s own site names a different company under a different licence entirely. Add a documented record of freezing accounts and voiding winnings after big wins or bonus play, and the picture is clear enough: keep stakes small and treat it as a crypto-only alternative, not a primary bookmaker.

★★★★☆3.5
Sportsbook-first · esports & virtuals · MoMo from GHS 10
Sports Welcome
125% + 250 FS
MostBet is a sportsbook first: in our July 2026 hands-on test the mobile lobby led with live football odds and carried everything from European club friendlies to ODI cricket, alongside dedicated esports and virtual sports menus and a shared wallet with the casino. Entry matches the cheapest here, with Airtel Money from GHS 10 and MTN MoMo from GHS 15, level with Melbet on mobile money, and the apps sit on both the Play Store and the App Store, which is rarer than it should be in this market. So why is it ranked this low? Three honest reasons. The sports welcome bonus of 125% plus 250 free spins has no clearly stated wagering requirement anywhere we could find, which means you learn the rules after your money is in. On licensing it is the weakest position of any operator here: MostBet does not appear on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register in any category, and while it does hold Curacao licence OGL/2024/597/0249 under Bizbon N.V., which we verified on the regulator’s own register ourselves, that number is displayed nowhere on the MostBet site, so an ordinary player has no way to check who they are dealing with from the site alone. And our test withdrawal was blocked behind a surprise ID and phone verification wall, so its payout speed remains unverified. If you bet here anyway: reject the bonus, verify your account on day one, and keep stakes small.

Cryptorino is a crypto-only platform that runs a sportsbook alongside its casino, and like Wild.io it suits bettors who already hold crypto rather than anyone looking for a dedicated bookmaker. Deposits start from 1 USDT and sign-up takes under a minute with just an email. Two things keep it near the bottom of this ranking. Its footer shows a Costa Rican company registration for Star Bright Media S.R.L. where a gambling licence should be, it does not appear on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s register, and that combination is the weakest accountability of any operator on this page. And we could not verify a payout at all: our balance never met the 10 USD withdrawal minimum or the 1x wagering condition attached to it, so the request was never placed and the category is dropped from its score rather than guessed. Our testing covered the casino side. We have not placed a sports bet here, so we make no claim about its odds, market depth or sports settlement speed.

Cybet is the newest platform here, operated by Eskimo Adventures Ltd of Belize under Anjouan licence ALSI-202409034-FI2. It displays both the licence number and the operating company, which two of the six operators on this page do not manage, and that is worth something. What it is not worth is protection: this is the same Anjouan licence Wild.io holds, and the Comoros government says the authority issuing these licences has no legal standing in that country. Displaying it openly is a point about honesty, not about recourse, and there is no Ghana registration behind it either. Its sportsbook is more complete than the casino-first label suggests: we found soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, baseball, MMA, boxing, American football and ice hockey alongside a full esports menu covering Counter-Strike and Dota 2, with live in-play betting, an Event Builder for same-game multis, a Playtracker, a predictions feed and suggested accumulators. Support was the fastest we have recorded anywhere: a named human in under a minute. Three things keep it last. There is no sports welcome offer at all, only a casino bonus whose wagering requirement Cybet does not publish. It holds no cedis, so there is no Mobile Money and Ghanaian bettors must buy crypto first. And our balance fell below its 10 USD payout floor, so the withdrawal was never placed and its payout is unverified. We inspected the sportsbook but did not place a bet, so we make no claim about its odds quality or settlement speed.

Payout status is what we can evidence, not what an operator claims. We use five outcomes only: documented, submitted but not confirmed, accepted but not captured, never placed, and blocked. One operator on this site, 1xBet, has a payout documented end to end with a request time, a completion time and a reference number. Where a payout could not be completed or confirmed, that category is dropped from the score rather than estimated. Ghana licence status was checked against the Gaming Commission’s live 2026 register in August 2026.
Betting in Ghana is one of the most popular pastimes online, and almost all of it happens on a phone. At the top of this page is our current ranking of the best betting sites in Ghana, reordered every month. A bookmaker earns a place there only after we have checked its licence against the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register, read the full welcome terms, compared odds on popular football markets and opened, funded and tried to withdraw from a real account, and where a payout could not be completed or confirmed the card says so rather than quoting a time we did not measure; the full scoring weights are published on our review methodology page, and each result is written up in the full reviews. If you also play casino games, see our companion ranking of the best online casinos in Ghana. Below: which betting apps are worth installing, every betting company we can confirm on Ghana’s 2026 licence register, which sites take MTN Mobile Money and pay out fastest, the markets and odds that matter, and how to read a betting bonus before you claim it.
Best betting apps in Ghana: Android, iOS and mobile browser
More than three-quarters of web traffic in Ghana happens on a phone, so for most bettors the betting app matters more than the website. If you are asking which betting app is the best in Ghana, the honest answer is that the app is rarely better or worse than the site behind it. What differs is how much of the sportsbook the app actually carries, and how much data it burns.
What separates a good betting app from a bad one
A betting app worth installing should carry the full market range rather than a cut-down list, support live in-play betting with odds that refresh without a manual reload, offer cash-out on running bets, take your Mobile Money deposit inside the app rather than bouncing you to a browser, and let you complete a withdrawal without switching to the desktop site. Live match streaming is a bonus rather than a requirement. On a metered bundle, watch the data: an app that autoplays video on the home screen will eat a bundle far faster than one that does not.
Three ways a betting app reaches your phone: APK, store, or web app
One quirk catches out most first-time users, and it is worth knowing that operators use the word “app” for three quite different things. Because Google restricts real-money gambling apps, an Android betting app in Ghana is usually installed as an APK from the operator’s official website rather than from the Play Store. This is normal and safe as long as you download from the operator’s own domain and not a mirror or a link someone sent you. A handful of operators do publish on the Play Store, and iOS apps are generally available in the App Store. And some sites publish no downloadable file at all, offering a progressive web app instead: you open the site in your browser, add it to your home screen, and it then runs full screen with its own icon and updates itself, because it is the live site. That third route means there is nothing to side-load, which is a genuine security advantage, but it also means nothing about the app has passed Apple’s or Google’s review, so the domain you install from is the only check you get. If you would rather not install anything at all, every bookmaker we rank runs cleanly in a mobile browser with the same account.
Betting apps in Ghana compared
| Bookmaker | Android | iOS | Live in-play | Deposit in app | Streaming |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1xBet (4.6) | APK from official site | App Store | Yes | MoMo & crypto | Yes |
| Melbet (4.0) | APK from official site | App Store | Yes | MoMo & crypto | Yes |
| Wild.io (3.7) | Web app (PWA) | Web app (PWA) | Yes | Crypto only | Not checked |
| MostBet (3.5) | Play Store | App Store | Yes | MoMo & crypto | Partial |
| Cryptorino (3.4) | Not checked | Not checked | Not checked | Crypto only | Not checked |
| Cybet (3.4) | Browser only | Browser only | Yes | Crypto only | Not checked |
Checked July 2026 on a mid-range Android device, with Wild.io re-checked against the operator’s own install page in August 2026. “Not checked” means exactly that: we have not tested it and will not fill the gap from an operator’s own marketing. Wild.io publishes no APK and no store listing; it offers a progressive web app you add to your home screen from the browser, which is why its cells read “Web app (PWA)” rather than either extreme. App availability changes, so confirm on the operator’s own site before installing.
The short version: if you want an app from an official store rather than an APK, MostBet is the one we have confirmed on both, though its undisplayed licence and blocked withdrawal test are covered on its card above. If you want the best betting app in Ghana measured on depth of markets with a Ghana licence behind it, 1xBet is the pick, and Melbet is the closest alternative on the same engine and the same register. The three crypto-only sites are browser-first: Wild.io installs from its own site as a web app, Cybet runs in the browser only, and we have not checked Cryptorino. None of them offers a store download, so all three are weak choices for anyone who specifically wants a native app.
Licensed betting companies in Ghana: who is on the 2026 register
Ghana’s betting market is regulated by the Gaming Commission of Ghana, which publishes a live register of licensed operators split by category, including sports betting and online casino. If you want a list of betting companies in Ghana that is worth trusting, that register is the only source that matters, and it is the one we check.
One thing about it is worth knowing before you read any other Ghana betting site, because it explains a lot. The Commission’s live 2026 register publishes operator names by category and nothing else. No licence numbers. No legal company names. No addresses. That means any affiliate site quoting you a specific Gaming Commission licence number is not reading it off the live register, because the live register does not contain one. Where we quote a number, such as 1xBet’s GCSB26F1615T, it is because the operator displays it on its own site and we confirmed that operator’s name against the register separately. Those are two different facts and we keep them apart.

Register status checked August 2026 against the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s live 2026 register. “To confirm” means we have not yet read that name off the register ourselves and will not repeat it from another site. Being on the register is a licence check, not a recommendation: only the first six rows have been tested by us, and appearing here is not an endorsement of any operator we have not opened an account with.
Why some big Ghanaian names are not in our ranking
We want to be straight about the limits of this page. The bookmakers ranked at the top are international brands that accept Ghanaian players and that we have personally tested. Several operators licensed locally by the Gaming Commission are widely used here and do not appear in that ranking for one reason only: we have not completed a hands-on test on them yet, and we do not rank a site we have not opened, funded and tried to withdraw from.
If one of those is your current bookmaker, that is not a warning sign. It means we do not yet have our own evidence about it, and we would rather say so than repeat someone else’s summary. New betting sites in Ghana appear regularly and the same rule applies to all of them: a licence check gets an operator onto the table above, and only a completed test gets it into the ranking. Until then, treat the ranking as what it is: the sites we have personally tested, not a complete map of the Ghanaian market.
Betting sites in Ghana that accept MTN Mobile Money
For most Ghanaian bettors Mobile Money is the default, and every fiat-friendly bookmaker in our ranking takes MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money in cedis, with Visa and Mastercard alongside. Of the six sites we tested, three hold cedis and accept Mobile Money directly: 1xBet, Melbet and MostBet. The other three, Wild.io, Cryptorino and Cybet, are crypto-only and hold no cedi balance at all, so a Ghanaian bettor has to buy USDT or Bitcoin before depositing. That is a real cost in both time and spread, and it is why all three sit lower in the ranking despite decent sportsbooks.
The one thing to watch on any site is a rail mismatch: a few operators let you deposit by Mobile Money but pay withdrawals only to a bank account, which adds days. We prefer bookmakers where money moves both ways on the same rail. For limits, fees, provider-by-provider timings and the 2026 rules, see our full guide to how MTN MoMo deposits and withdrawals work.
Which betting sites in Ghana pay out fastest
Here is where we have to be more careful than most sites are willing to be. Across all six bookmakers we tested, exactly one has a withdrawal we can evidence from end to end: 1xBet, at roughly ten minutes to Mobile Money, with a request time, a completion time and a reference number recorded. For Melbet the request was submitted and we never saw what happened to it; for Wild.io it was visibly accepted with no verification wall but we never captured a timestamped confirmation, so we publish no time for either. For Cryptorino and Cybet our balance never reached the payout minimum, so no request was ever placed. For MostBet the request was blocked behind a surprise verification wall. Anyone telling you that six Ghanaian bookmakers all pay within X minutes has not tested six bookmakers. If you are looking at casino payouts rather than betting payouts, we track those separately on our page for the fastest paying casinos in Ghana.
Odds, markets and which betting sites in Ghana have the highest odds
Football is the heart of betting in Ghana, from the English Premier League and Champions League to the Ghana Premier League, so we look hard at the depth of football markets: match result, over/under, both teams to score, correct score, player props and same-game multis. Beyond football, the strongest sites also cover basketball, tennis, boxing, MMA and a growing esports menu. Two things separate a good sportsbook from an average one: the range of live, in-play markets and the quality of the odds.
On the question of which betting sites in Ghana have the highest odds, the honest answer is that no single site wins on everything, and any page that names one is selling you something. Odds are set market by market, so a bookmaker priced sharply on Premier League match results can be poor on Ghana Premier League corners. What you can do is compare the same selection across two or three accounts before you stake, which is why serious bettors in Ghana keep more than one. Even a small difference in price compounds over hundreds of bets, and the margin a bookmaker builds into its odds costs you far more over a season than any welcome bonus gives back.
Betting bonuses, accumulators and wagering explained
A sports welcome bonus usually matches a share of your first deposit, often 100% to 300%, up to a ceiling set in GHS. But the headline figure is the least useful part. What decides whether an offer is worth claiming is the wagering requirement: how many times you must bet the bonus, and on what kind of bets, before winnings can be withdrawn. Most Ghana sports bonuses must be cleared on accumulators (multibets) with at least three selections at minimum odds of around 1.40, inside a time limit. An accumulator combines several bets into one slip, where all legs must win, and many sites add an acca boost that increases the payout the more legs you add. Read the terms first: a clean 100% to 200% offer with fair wagering usually beats a flashy 300%+ deal wrapped in fine print, and any operator that will not state its sports wagering figure at all, as MostBet does not, should be treated as a pass. Casino offers work on completely different terms, and we cover those separately in our guide to casino welcome bonuses in Ghana.
Are betting sites legal in Ghana?
Yes. Bookmakers are licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana under the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721), the minimum betting age is 18, and since April 2025 there is no withholding tax on winnings. The law does not stop Ghanaians from betting on reputable internationally licensed sites either, though a local licence is the stronger protection if a dispute ever arises, because a Ghana-registered operator can be complained about to a regulator that is actually reachable from Ghana. For the licence types, the sections of the Act that apply and how to check an operator against the register yourself, read our full guide to Ghana’s betting and gambling laws.
Frequently asked questions
Which betting companies are licensed in Ghana?
Betting companies in Ghana are licensed by the Gaming Commission of Ghana, which publishes a live register split by category. Of the operators on this page, we have confirmed 1xBet on the 2026 register in both sports betting and online casino, and Melbet in sports betting. Betway and 22Bet are also confirmed on the register but we have not tested them yet. Wild.io, MostBet, Cryptorino and Cybet do not appear on the register in any category and operate under offshore licences instead. One detail worth knowing: the live register publishes operator names only, with no licence numbers, company names or addresses, so any site quoting you a specific Gaming Commission licence number did not read it off the register.
Which betting app is the best in Ghana?
Of the apps we have tested, 1xBet is the strongest overall: it carries the full sportsbook, live in-play betting, cash-out, in-app Mobile Money deposits and match streaming, and it is confirmed on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register in both sports betting and online casino. Melbet is the closest alternative and is also on the register under sports betting. MostBet is the one we have confirmed on both the Play Store and the App Store, though it is not on the register at all, its Curacao licence is not displayed anywhere on its site, and our withdrawal test did not complete. Several widely used Ghanaian apps, including Betway and SportyBet, are still in our testing queue.
What are the best betting apps in Ghana for Android?
1xBet and Melbet both offer full-featured Android apps, installed as an APK from the operator’s official website because Google restricts real-money gambling apps on the Play Store. MostBet publishes on the Play Store directly. Downloading an APK from the operator’s own domain is normal and safe; downloading one from a mirror or a forwarded link is not.
Which betting sites in Ghana accept MTN Mobile Money?
Of the six bookmakers we tested, three accept MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money in cedis for both deposits and withdrawals: 1xBet, Melbet and MostBet. The other three, Wild.io, Cryptorino and Cybet, are crypto-only and hold no cedi balance, so you would need to buy USDT or Bitcoin before depositing. Check that withdrawals go back to Mobile Money and not only to a bank account, because that mismatch adds days.
Which betting sites in Ghana pay out fastest?
Of everything we have tested, only 1xBet has a withdrawal we can evidence end to end: roughly ten minutes to Mobile Money, with a request time, a completion time and a reference number recorded. Melbet’s request was submitted and we never saw what happened to it, and Wild.io’s was visibly accepted with no verification wall but never captured as a timed payout, so we publish no time for either. Cryptorino and Cybet never let us place a request because our balance stayed under their payout minimums. MostBet blocked the request at a verification wall. We would rather publish one verified time than six estimated ones.
Which betting site has the highest odds in Ghana?
No single site has the highest odds on everything, and any page naming one is guessing. Odds are priced market by market, so a bookmaker that is sharp on Premier League match results can be poor on Ghana Premier League corners. The practical answer is to hold accounts with two or three bookmakers and compare the same selection before staking. Across the sites we rank, the large international brands near the top of this page tend to price main football markets most competitively.
Which betting site has the best welcome bonus in Ghana?
It changes month to month, which is why we re-rank the list at the top of this page. As a rule, the largest cedi-denominated sports welcome bonuses come from the big international bookmakers, while crypto-first sites use multi-deposit or free-bet rewards instead of a single cedi match. Always read the wagering terms, not just the headline percentage, and treat any operator that will not publish its wagering figure at all as a pass.
Are foreign betting sites legal in Ghana?
Ghanaian law does not stop you from betting on a reputable internationally licensed site, and several of the bookmakers on this page are exactly that. The difference is what happens if something goes wrong. An operator on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s register can be complained about to a regulator you can actually reach from Ghana. An operator licensed in Anjouan or Curacao cannot, in any practical sense. That is why local registration carries real weight in our licensing score.
Are all betting apps in Ghana the same?
No, but they differ less than the marketing suggests. An app is a wrapper around the same account and the same odds as the website, so the real differences are how much of the sportsbook it carries, whether you can deposit and withdraw without leaving it, whether live in-play odds refresh on their own, and how much data it burns. Judge the operator first and the app second.
What is an accumulator and how does an acca boost work?
An accumulator, or multibet, combines several selections into one bet slip, and every leg must win for the slip to pay. An acca boost increases your potential payout as you add more qualifying legs. Most Ghana welcome bonuses must be wagered on accumulators with three or more selections.
Can I bet live and in-play in Ghana?
Yes. The bookmakers we rank offer live, in-play betting with odds that update in real time during matches, and several also provide live match streaming to logged-in users.
Why are Betway and SportyBet not on this list?
Because we have not tested them yet. Both are widely used in Ghana and both are in our testing queue, alongside 22Bet, betPawa, MSport, Soccabet and Premier Bet. We only rank a bookmaker after we have opened an account, deposited and requested a withdrawal ourselves. Betway and 22Bet are next in line, and both are already confirmed on the 2026 register, but both require a Ghanaian phone number to verify an account, which is the obstacle we are working around. They will appear in the ranking once the test is done and the result is published either way.
