Those weights are the same on every review we publish, and we print them so you can check the arithmetic rather than take the headline on trust. Payments for Ghana carries the most weight, and it is what keeps Melbet in third place: all three mobile-money networks from GHS 10, e-wallets from GHS 6, plus cards and commission-free crypto. Payout scores 7.4 rather than higher for a specific reason. Our withdrawal request was accepted with no friction, which is a genuine result and more than some casinos manage, but we never documented the money landing, so we do not credit Melbet with a measured payout. An earlier version of this page scored that category 4.7 out of 5, which is 9.4 on our current scale and was not supported by our own evidence, and we have corrected it. Pros and cons

Our hands-on test: what actually happened

We do not rate a casino we have not used ourselves, so before scoring Melbet we opened a real account on melbetghana.com, funded it with crypto, played, and requested a payout with our own money on a mid-range Android phone over a normal mobile data connection. Registration. Melbet gives you four ways to sign up: by phone, one-click, by email, or through a social network (X, Telegram or Apple ID). We used the email flow and set the country to Ghana and the currency to the cedi (GHS). The form asked for the standard details and let us opt into either the sports or the casino welcome offer at sign-up, or decline a bonus altogether. The whole process took a couple of minutes.

Deposit. We funded the account with cryptocurrency, since Melbet charges no commission on crypto. The top-up (Receipt No. 22266753669, amount 32.97 GHS, 25/06/2026 15:44) credited quickly. We also ran a smaller e-wallet top-up to confirm a second deposit route worked, and it credited without issue. Minimum deposits are low, from GHS 6 by e-wallet, GHS 10 by mobile money and GHS 63 by payment systems, up to a GHS 30,000 ceiling.

Withdrawal (the real test). This is where casinos are separated from the rest, so we want to be precise about what we can and cannot claim. After playing, we requested a crypto withdrawal of 35.12 GHS at 16:05 (Request No. 4984761765), and the platform accepted it without friction, no extra verification wall and no held balance. That is a meaningful result on its own: plenty of casinos block at exactly this step, and one other on our site did.

What we did not document is the payout landing. We have the request confirmation, not a timed on-chain receipt, so we are not going to publish a payout speed for Melbet the way we did for our top pick. Crypto is designed to be the fastest rail here and there is no reason to expect a problem, but that is an expectation, not a measurement. This is not a small caveat buried in prose either: it is why the payout category scores 7.4 out of 10 rather than above 9, and why we corrected that number downward after reviewing our own evidence. We will update this section once we have run a fully timed cashout. We also did not test a mobile-money withdrawal, which is subject to the operator’s own review checks and can be slower. Customer support. We opened the live chat to see how quickly a real person would respond. We were connected to an agent (Amy) quickly, but she was assisting other customers and estimated around 15 minutes before she could fully help. She was polite, and the chat was available, but that is a slow result compared with the best operators we have tested, and it is the longest wait any casino has quoted us. Support quality can vary with the time of day; at peak times, expect a wait.

Is Melbet Ghana legal and safe?

Melbet accepts players from Ghana, supports the cedi and local mobile money, but it holds two things that are easy to confuse, so let us be precise about both. The site we tested, melbetghana.com, operates as Pelican Entertainment B.V., a company registered in Curacao (company number 134359), under a licence from the Curacao Gaming Control Board (licence number OGL/2024/561/0554). Payment processing runs through Edric Ltd and Faren Ltd, both registered in Nicosia, Cyprus. Separately, the trade name Melbet does appear on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 list – under sports betting only. It is not listed in the online casino category.

We took that Curacao number to the regulator ourselves, and it checks out. Searching the Curacao Gaming Authority’s own register in September 2026 returns OGL/2024/561/0554 under Pelican Entertainment B.V., company registration 134359, with a status of “Indefinite” and no expiry date printed. That is a better result than it sounds: two of the other Curacao entries we hold for brands on this site carry an expiry date that has already passed, and this one carries none. Two things temper it. The register gives an issue date of 24 December 2025 while Melbet’s own site states the licence was granted on 15 November 2024, and we cannot tell you which is the operative date. And the Curacao register lists no authorised domains for any entry, so it confirms that the licence exists and who holds it, and it cannot confirm that the licence covers melbetghana.com specifically.

That distinction between activities is the single most useful thing to understand before reading any Ghana casino list, including ours. The Commission licenses by activity, not by brand. A sports betting licence is not permission to run an online casino, and a well-known name can hold one without the other. So the casino you would actually be playing at Melbet runs on the offshore Curacao licence, not a Ghanaian one, even though the brand’s name genuinely is on Ghana’s own list. One more qualifier on that Ghana listing, and we would rather give it to you than leave it implied. The Commission’s list publishes trade names, not companies and not licence numbers. The Ghanaian permit number that goes with the Melbet name, GCSB25J8590V, is displayed on a different Melbet domain, melbet.com.gh, under a different company called OTRADA LIMITED, and it appears nowhere on the site we tested. So we can tell you the name Melbet is on Ghana’s 2026 list for sports betting. We cannot tell you that the listing covers the operation we opened an account with, and this page does not claim it does. A Curacao licence is recognised and used by many established brands, and Melbet has operated since 2015, so this is not a fly-by-night site, but any casino dispute would fall under Curacao’s framework rather than Ghana’s own regulator, and we factor that into the safety score. The site uses SSL encryption and offers responsible-gambling controls, and the legal minimum age to gamble is 18.

What the offshore licence means in practice. This is worth being blunt about. A Curacao licence has historically offered players a lighter form of protection than a strong local or European regulator: if you have a dispute the operator will not resolve, your main route is the licensing body itself rather than an independent local ombudsman, and outcomes can be slow and inconsistent. For most players who deposit sensibly, play, and withdraw without issue, this never comes up, and Melbet accepted our deposit and withdrawal request without any friction. But it does mean the safety net is thinner than with a casino licensed here, so it is sensible to keep stakes reasonable, screenshot your own transactions, and read the bonus terms before you claim.

That said, it is worth being equally clear about where this sits, because “offshore” covers a very wide range. A directly issued Curacao Gaming Control Board licence, with a named operating company and a number you can check yourself on the regulator’s register, is a materially stronger instrument than an Anjouan licence, the lightest type in this market, and stronger again than a casino that displays no licence at all. What it cannot substitute for is a Gaming Commission of Ghana licence for online casino, which 1xBet and BC.Game’s Ghanaian site both hold, because that is the one instrument that puts a regulator inside the country a Ghanaian player can actually reach.

Which Melbet site is the real one for Ghana?

This section used to give you a simple answer and a simple check. Both were too simple, and we have rewritten them, because Melbet reaches Ghanaian players through more than one address and those addresses do not name the same company. If you follow the usual affiliate advice of “check the footer matches the licence we quote”, you can end up deciding a genuine Melbet property is a fake one. Here is what each address actually shows.

So a different company name is not automatically a warning sign here. melbet.com.gh is a real Melbet address carrying a real Ghanaian permit under a different company, and its own information pages describe Melbet as a bookmaker rather than a casino. It is not a clone, and if you land there and see OTRADA LIMITED instead of Pelican Entertainment B.V., that does not mean you have been phished. What it does mean is that you are on a different operation from the one this review tested, under a different regulator, and nothing on this page describes it. Everything we measured, scored and screenshotted was on melbetghana.com.

Which leaves the clone question genuinely harder than we used to make it sound, so here is the honest version of the check. Rather than matching a footer against a single company name, look for a footer that names any operating company at all and prints a licence number you can look up yourself, and then look it up: Curacao numbers are searchable on the Curacao Gaming Authority’s own register, and the Gaming Commission of Ghana publishes a list of licensed operators by trade name and activity. A page carrying no company and no number is the thing to walk away from. So is a Melbet APK offered through a forwarded link, an aggregator or a search advert: if you install the Android app, take it only from the address whose footer you have just checked.

One last caveat we would rather state than hide: our footer evidence for melbetghana.com dates from our June 2026 test, and the Curacao register entry we read in September was issued after that. If you are about to deposit, spend thirty seconds reading the footer yourself rather than trusting a screenshot we took three months ago.

Welcome bonuses

Melbet lets you choose one welcome offer at registration, sports or casino, and you cannot claim both on the same first deposit.

Sports welcome bonus. A 200% match on your first deposit, worth up to GHS 3,100. As Melbet’s own example puts it, a deposit of GHS 1,550 multiplied by 200% gives the full GHS 3,100 bonus. The wagering requirement is a relatively friendly x8, which is one of the easier sports bonuses to clear that we have seen, and a fraction of the x40 attached to Melbet’s own casino package.

At the time of our review (June 2026), Melbet offered a large library for Ghanaian players, spanning major studios. Melbet does not publish a headline game count and we have not counted one ourselves, so unlike some sites we will not put a number on it here. That honesty has a cost in our scoring, and it should: we do not credit a library we have not measured. What we can describe is the range, which covers:

Football leads, from the English Premier League and Champions League to African and Ghanaian competitions, with deep markets on match result, over/under, both teams to score, correct score and player props. Payments: mobile money and crypto

This is the category we weight most heavily, and it is Melbet’s strongest suit. For most Ghanaian players mobile money is the default, and Melbet supports all three networks, plus e-wallets, a card option and crypto.

Deposits are near-instant across most methods, and money moves both ways on the same rails, so you are not forced to deposit by mobile money and then wait for a bank-only withdrawal. That combination, all three networks in cedis with a GHS 10 floor on mobile money and GHS 6 by e-wallet, is why this section scores 9.2 out of 10 and why Melbet holds third place overall despite its speed and support problems: a Ghanaian player can fund and cash out here without ever touching an exchange. Speed and performance

Speed matters every time you place a live bet or spin a reel, so we tested it two ways: hands-on during our session, and against Google’s real-user data.

In everyday use on our mid-range Android over 4G, the Melbet app felt usable once open, and crypto deposits moved quickly. But the underlying site tells a harsher story.

For an objective benchmark we ran melbetghana.com through Google PageSpeed Insights, which reports real Chrome-user data (Core Web Vitals). The result is a clear fail, and it is Melbet’s single biggest weakness:

melbetghana.com fails Google’s Core Web Vitals assessment on mobile, and by a wide margin. An 11-second Largest Contentful Paint means the main content is very slow to appear, and a Cumulative Layout Shift of 1.42 means elements jump around badly as the page loads, which is genuinely frustrating on a weaker connection. This is materially worse than the best sites we have tested in Ghana, it is measured field data rather than an impression, and it is the main reason the mobile category scores 6.8. The app is more responsive than these field numbers suggest, but the data is the data, and we report it honestly. Note that this measurement belongs to melbetghana.com and to no other Melbet address.

Mobile app and usability

Most betting in Ghana happens on a phone, so we reviewed Melbet the way you actually use it. There are three routes, a full mobile browser version, an Android app and an iOS app, and the two apps do not reach you the same way. We found no Melbet Android listing on Google Play, so the Android app installs from the operator’s own site, the same route 1xBet uses. An iOS app is listed on the Apple App Store in some regions, under local company names, and we have not confirmed that listing in Ghana’s storefront. An earlier version of this page told you both apps came from the official stores; we could not stand that up, so we have taken it out. The practical rule follows from the official-site section above: install the Android app only from the address whose footer you have already checked, never from a forwarded link. The interface is dense, packing sports, casino, crash games and the cashier into one app, so there is a short learning curve, but once you know it, everything is a tap or two away. The main frustration is not the layout but the load speed covered above.

Customer support

Melbet offers support through live chat and a help centre. In our test we were connected to a live agent quickly, but at a busy time she estimated around 15 minutes before she could fully assist. The agent was polite and the chat works, but that is slower than the best operators in the market and it is the longest wait any casino has quoted us, so it is a genuine weak point rather than a strength, and the score reflects it.
