MSport Ghana vs BetWinner Ghana: Two Casino Licences, One Named Company

Compared by Alex Mensah · Last updated: 27 September 2026 · Neither operator scored

Quick summary

Both operators publish a Ghanaian sports betting licence and a Ghanaian casino licence in their own footers. MSport publishes GCSB26R0957A and GCCA26S3348H, shows the Gaming Commission of Ghana seal, and names no operating company anywhere in its footer, crediting its approval instead to a National Gaming Board, which is not the regulator’s name. BetWinner publishes GCSB26Y4779U and GCCA26J9745N, states both were issued on 1 January 2026, and names Inter Omega Limited, company registration number CS237471220, with a street address in Accra. Both companies appear on the Commission’s list published in 2022, MSport as Mobile Sport Limited and BetWinner as Inter Omega Limited. We checked the Commission’s current register on 27 September 2026 and both brands appear there twice, under Sports Betting and under Online Casino, so both operators’ licence claims are corroborated by the regulator’s own list. The bonus picture is the other real difference: BetWinner publishes its casino package in full, up to 15,000 GHS and 150 free spins across four deposits with 35 times wagering, a 50 GHS stake cap and a seven-day window, while MSport publishes a 3,000 GHS headline whose terms sit behind a registration wall we could not pass. Neither brand has been funded or scored by Best Casinos Africa, because both require a Ghanaian mobile number we do not hold. Winnings are untaxed in Ghana since April 2025.

What we earn from this page: nothing. We hold no affiliate relationship with either operator and there are no sign-up links anywhere on this page. There is also no score, because we could not fund an account at either brand. Every scored review on this site starts with an account we opened and a deposit we made ourselves, and our framework weights payout at 2.0 out of 11.5, a category we only score when our own withdrawal test got far enough to judge. Neither brand enters our rated list and the payout status for both is recorded as Never placed. How we test and score operators.

What we did, and what we could not do

Both operators stop a prospective customer at the same place. MSport asks for a Ghanaian mobile number before it will do anything else. BetWinner asks for a Ghanaian mobile number, a currency, a name and a Ghanaian identity document number on the same form. We hold none of those, so we could not deposit, could not bet, could not claim a bonus and could not request a payout at either brand.

What we did do, on 23 September 2026: we worked through both registration flows to the point where each one stopped us, read both operators’ published terms and bonus rules line by line, contacted both support teams from a phone, captured both footers with their licence numbers, and compared what each brand publishes about itself against what the regulator has published. Every screenshot on this page is ours. We have written to both operators asking for accounts we can fund, and if either agrees we will run the full protocol and publish a scored review.

MSport asks for a +233 number and nothing else before it sends a code.
BetWinner Ghana registration form asking for a +233 phone number, GHS currency and a Ghanaian passport number
BetWinner asks for the +233 number, the currency, a document type preset to Ghanaian passport and a document number.

The two forms already tell you something about how each operator handles identity. MSport verifies a phone and lets you in. BetWinner front-loads an identity document at sign-up. Neither approach is automatically better. Front-loading is friction when you want to bet in two minutes, but the operator that checks your document at the door is not the operator that freezes your first withdrawal while it asks for one. The pattern is the same one we saw between 22Bet and Betway, and it is worth weighing before you deposit rather than after.

The headline finding

Both brands claim the same two permissions. Only one of them tells you who holds them.

Ghana licenses gambling by activity, not by brand, so an operator that runs a sportsbook and a casino needs two separate licences. Both of these operators publish two. MSport’s footer carries GCSB26R0957A for sports betting and GCCA26S3348H for casino. BetWinner’s footer carries GCSB26Y4779U for sports betting and GCCA26J9745N for casino, and states that the Gaming Commission of Ghana issued both on 1 January 2026. On the Commission’s own register, checked on 27 September 2026, both brands appear under Sports Betting and under Online Casino, so neither claim is in doubt.

Where they part company is the sentence around the numbers. BetWinner names Inter Omega Limited, gives its Ghanaian company registration number, CS237471220, and prints a street address and digital address in Accra. MSport’s footer names no company at all. It says the operation is organised under the laws of Ghana with the approval of a National Gaming Board, and there is no such regulator. Ghana’s regulator is the Gaming Commission of Ghana, created under the Gaming Act 2006, Act 721, and its seal is displayed a few centimetres above that sentence in MSport’s own footer.

We want to be precise about what that is and is not. It is a disclosure error in the operator’s own copy, on the single line where a player goes looking for proof. It is not evidence that the licence is invalid, and we have no reason to think it is.

The prefixes are consistent with every operator we have checked in this market. GCSB marks a sports betting licence and GCCA a casino licence, and both operators use them the right way round, which tells you the numbers are at least the right shape.

One format note, and we are not drawing a conclusion from it. Each of these two operators publishes a pair of numbers whose digits differ from each other, which is the ordinary pattern across the sample we hold. It is not the pattern we recorded when we compared 22Bet and Betway, where one operator’s two 2026 numbers were identical apart from the prefix. The Commission has published no scheme explaining how its licence numbers are built, so we cannot say whether any of these patterns mean anything at all. We publish the observation because the sample is small and somebody with the documentation may be able to settle it.

What the regulator’s register can and cannot confirm

The register lists trade names and activities. It does not publish licence numbers at all. That is the first thing to understand about every Ghanaian licence number you have ever seen quoted on a review site, including the ones on this page: they come from operators’ footers, because the regulator does not publish them. What the Commission’s register does show is the trade name, the operation type, the issue and expiry dates and a location, one row per licence, so a brand licensed for two activities appears twice.

We checked both brands against the Commission’s register on 27 September 2026, and both appear twice. MSPORT is listed under Sports Betting and under Online Casino, and so is BETWINNER, each with an issue date of 1 January 2026, an expiry date of 31 December 2026 and a location of Accra. Both operators’ footer claims are therefore corroborated by the regulator’s own list, which is as clean a result as we have recorded on this site.

How we got there matters, so here it is. Ghana restricts access to the Commission’s site from outside the country and our desk is not in Ghana, so we read the register through assisted retrieval rather than in our own browser, with the full table displayed rather than a single name searched. As a check on the read itself, we looked up five brands whose position on the register we had already established on earlier checks, including two that are listed for sports betting only, and all five came back exactly as before. We rely on that read for where these two brands sit. We do not rely on it for a total row count, because the category totals it returned did not add up to its own row total, so we publish no count from it. An earlier attempt, on 10 September 2026, returned a server error, which is why this page first went live without a register result.

What we could check is older and still useful. The Commission published a list of licensed companies in 2022 which, unlike the current register, carried company names, licence numbers and addresses. Both operators are on it.

Address recordedSEDCO House, 5 Tabon Street, North Ridge, AccraNear Calvary Presby Church, Sarpeiman, Ga West, Accra

Read that table carefully, because it is easy to over-read. A 2022 document proves that both companies existed and were licensed four years ago. It does not prove anything about 2026, and we are not treating it as current. The single asymmetry in it, that our copy of the 2022 list shows a casino entry for Inter Omega Limited but not for Mobile Sport Limited, may simply mean MSport added its casino licence later, which is exactly what a 2026 casino number in its footer would suggest. The current register settles it: MSPORT appears under Online Casino for 2026.

One small thing in that table is worth keeping in mind if you go and search the register yourself, and it caught us out on a different brand this month. The 2022 list spells the trading names Msport and Betwinner. The operators’ own sites spell them MSport and BetWinner. A register search is only as good as the spelling you feed it, and a blank result on one version of a name is not a finding until you have tried the others.

Who actually stands behind each brand

This is where the two brands feel genuinely different to a careful reader, and it has nothing to do with odds or games.

Take MSport first. Its own footer tells you nothing about the company, which is a real gap on the page where a player goes looking for accountability. But the entity is not hidden: the Commission’s 2022 list records Mobile Sport Limited trading as Msport, and the same company is named in the announcement of MSport’s regional partnership with Borussia Dortmund. So a determined reader can find out who they are dealing with. They just cannot do it from the site they are depositing into, which is the wrong way round.

BetWinner does the opposite and does it well by the standards of this market. A named company, a registration number you can look up, a street address and a digital address. The wrinkle is that its published addresses do not match each other. The footer gives North Kaneshie. The Commission’s 2022 list and the company’s own Android store listing both give Sarpeiman in Ga West. Companies move offices, and there is nothing sinister in two addresses four years apart, but a reader trying to verify an operator should know which one to search for. The store listing also carries a Cyprus telephone number for a company registered in Ghana, which is common in this industry and worth noticing rather than worrying about.

One thing neither operator publishes is the shape of the group above the local company. Neither site names a parent, a beneficial owner or a corporate structure. That is standard for the market and it is still a gap, and we prefer to say so than to fill it with speculation.

Bonuses: the real difference between these two

BetWinner publishes the whole mechanism. MSport publishes the headline. That is not a small thing when you are deciding where to put 100 GHS, because the mechanism is what decides whether a bonus is money or homework.

BetWinner’s casino welcome package, with the qualifying deposit and the opt-in requirement stated on the same screen.

MSport. The banner and the promotions list both headline a welcome offer of up to 3,000 GHS covering sports and games, shown as ongoing with a published run through to 30 September 2029. Alongside it sit a daily bonus-back offer on the operator’s crash game, a free lucky draw with a phone as the prize, and a daily 50,000 GHS promotion across its crash and instant games. What we could not reach is the part that matters: the qualifying deposit, the wagering multiplier, the expiry and whether casino play counts. Those sit behind the account wall. Third-party sites publish figures for all of them, and the figures disagree with each other, and none of them are sourced to a test anybody documented, so we are not going to pick one and pass it off as research.

BetWinner. Its casino rules are published in full and they are specific, so here they are in the operator’s own structure.

BetWinner casino welcome packageMinimum depositMaximum bonus
1st depositGHS 100GHS 3,000
2nd depositGHS 150GHS 3,500
3rd depositGHS 150GHS 4,000

Wagering35 times the bonus amount
Window7 days to clear the activated bonus
Stake cap while clearingGHS 50 per bet
Free spinsReleased only after the deposit bonus is cleared; their winnings go to the main balance with no further wagering

Four conditions in those rules deserve reading twice, because they are the ones that catch people.

  • You have to opt in before you deposit. The rules require you to agree to casino bonus offers in your account settings or on the deposit page first. Deposit without that box ticked and the bonus does not attach.
  • Table games do not clear it. Slots count in full toward wagering, while roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker and titles in the Others section count for nothing. The operator publishes a long list of excluded games, and it is long.
  • Switching bonus type costs you the rest. The rules state that a player who switches between bonus types, declines one or takes the other kind loses the right to take part in the company’s deposit bonus offers that follow, including the rest of the welcome package.
  • Withdrawal requests are blocked while a bonus is live. Ask to cash out mid-wagering and the request is declined until the requirement is met or the bonus is cancelled, and cancelling forfeits what the bonus has generated.

None of that is unusual by industry standards and all of it is disclosed, which is the point. A 15,000 GHS headline that needs four deposits, 35 times wagering inside seven days and stakes capped at 50 GHS is a different product from a 15,000 GHS headline, and BetWinner tells you so in its own rules. Whether MSport’s 3,000 GHS is easier or harder to clear, we cannot tell you, and neither can anybody who has not funded an account there.

Casino and games

Both operators put casino content in front of you immediately. MSport’s mobile home page carries a Casino Games row led by Aviator with a live player count and a recent multiplier win on the tile, plus its own instant games in the daily promotions. BetWinner’s bottom navigation gives Casino equal billing with Sports, and its game catalogue is the large multi-provider kind, which is also why its excluded-games list runs to hundreds of titles.

MSport leads with the welcome offer, then a casino row headed by Aviator.
BetWinner Ghana mobile homepage with live events, sports markets and a Casino tab in the bottom navigation
BetWinner leads with live and sports counts, with Casino one tap away in the bottom bar.

Beyond that we are going to disappoint you deliberately, in the same way we did on our comparison of SportyBet and Betum. Counting a casino lobby properly means being inside it with an account, filtering by category and recording provider names. We could not do that at either brand, so there is no game count and no provider list on this page. Our 1xBet review carries a game count because we counted it in a funded account. These two do not, because we did not.

One casino rule is worth pulling out of BetWinner’s small print because it applies to exactly the player who needs it most. The operator’s casino terms treat a win above 10,000 euros as a big win that has to be approved before the money is credited to the account or made available to withdraw. That is a disclosed policy, not a trap, and plenty of operators run one. It is also the kind of clause you want to have read before the night it applies to you, rather than after. MSport’s published terms put a hard ceiling in a different place: a stated maximum win of 1,250,000 GHS per bet, with a minimum stake of 0.10 GHS at the other end.

Payments and withdrawals

This is the category we weight most heavily when we do score an operator, at 2.5 out of 11.5, because in Ghana it decides whether a casino is usable at all. It is also the category where this page can tell you least, and we would rather be blunt about that than launder somebody else’s numbers.

Mobile money networksMSport displays MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo logos in its own footer, which is its claim, not our confirmation. BetWinner’s published rules describe methods generically and we could not reach a funded cashier at either operator.
Minimum depositNot verified at either. BetWinner’s casino welcome package requires at least 100 GHS on the first deposit to qualify, which is a bonus threshold rather than a deposit minimum.
Minimum withdrawalNot verified at either operator.
Withdrawal speedNot measured. BetWinner’s rules say requests are processed around the clock and can take up to seven business days depending on method. MSport’s terms state no processing time we could find.
Withdrawal methodBoth publish the same restriction: money goes back the way it came in, to an account in the registered holder’s name.
Identity checksBetWinner’s rules allow up to 72 hours from receipt of documents, and allow a video call as part of verification. MSport reserves the right to verify an address by post.
Play-through before cashoutBoth publish a version of this. BetWinner can refuse a withdrawal where deposits were not turned over in bets at odds of at least 1.1. MSport can charge costs where a deposit is not played through before a withdrawal is requested.
DormancyBetWinner’s rules block an account after three months of inactivity, unblocked by contacting its security team. MSport publishes no equivalent clause we could find.
Tax deducted at sourceNone, at either operator. Ghana repealed the 10 percent withholding tax on winnings in April 2025.

A table of unknowns is not what you came for, and it is still the accurate answer. Where we do publish withdrawal times they come from transactions we requested and received ourselves, with the request time, the arrival time and a reference number, and those live on our page covering the payouts we have timed with our own money.

Tax on your winnings

Good news, and it applies identically to both. Ghana introduced a 10 percent withholding tax on gambling winnings in 2023 and repealed it in April 2025 under the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2025, Act 1129. Winnings from a licensed operator are not taxed at source, so what lands in your mobile money wallet is yours. The levy on operator gaming revenue was not repealed, so the industry still pays, but that does not come out of your payout. The wider picture, including the draft instrument now before Parliament, sits in our guide to what the law actually says about online gambling in Ghana.

Customer support: what happened when we tried

This is the one head-to-head on this page that is entirely first-hand, and both operators came out of it better than the worst we have seen in this market.

MSport Ghana live chat with a named agent joining the conversation after a wait of under one minute
MSport: the widget advertised a wait under a minute, and a named agent joined.
BetWinner Ghana live chat where an agent named Sarah replies at 15:24 and asks for the player's name
BetWinner: an automated hand-off first, then a named agent, timestamped in the transcript.

At MSport the chat widget offered a live chat with an advertised wait of under a minute, and a named agent joined the conversation and asked how they could help. We are reporting the widget’s own label for the wait, not a stopwatch reading, because we did not time it.

At BetWinner the first message was automated, telling us we were being connected to an operator, and a named agent then picked the conversation up, greeted us in the brand’s rather chirpy house style and asked for a name before going further. The transcript carries the timestamps, which is more than most chat widgets give you.

Two caveats, because one contact is not a service level. We contacted each operator once, on the same day, in the same hour. Either could be slower at 2am or faster on a weekday morning. What we can report is that both put a human on the conversation, which is not something we could say about every brand we have tried in this market.

Terms written for Ghana against terms written for everywhere

Read the two rulebooks side by side and one of them is clearly drafted for this market and the other is clearly a global document with Ghanaian details bolted to the front. That is not a scandal. It is a useful signal about who is on the other end of a dispute.

In the published termsMSportBetWinner
Currency availableGhana cedi onlyCedi accounts, within a multi-currency global rulebook

Complaints routeOperator first, then an arbiter whose decision is finalOperator first, in writing, within published deadlines
Time limit to complainNo general window published for bet disputes10 days on bet settlement, 24 hours on refund queries

The funds clause is the one we would put weight on if we were choosing between them on paper alone. MSport’s terms state that customer money sits in separate designated customer bank accounts, that the bank has acknowledged it cannot mix or claim those funds, and that the balance would remain the customer’s if the company failed. That is a specific, checkable commitment of a kind that most operators in this market simply do not make. We have not audited it and we cannot, but an operator that writes it down has said something a regulator or a court can hold it to.

On the other side, BetWinner’s rules are the more complete document by a distance: settlement rules by sport, bonus mechanics, verification steps, dispute deadlines, dormancy, refund handling. A global template gives you more to read, and it also means that a Ghanaian player’s dispute is framed by a text written for dozens of markets at once.

So which one

We are not handing you a winner, because we have funded neither account and a recommendation without a payout behind it is worth nothing. What we can do is tell you which considerations actually separate them.

BetWinner looks stronger if

  • You want to know who you are depositing with, down to a company registration number
  • You want the bonus mechanics in writing before you opt in, including the wagering and the stake cap
  • You want a rulebook that covers settlement, verification and dispute deadlines in detail
  • You are a casino player rather than a sports bettor, since the headline package is a casino offer

MSport looks stronger if

  • You want terms written for Ghana, under Ghanaian law and in cedis only
  • You value the segregated customer funds clause, which BetWinner’s rules do not match
  • You want the lowest published stake floor, at 0.10 GHS
  • You want registration over in one step, with no identity document at sign-up
  • You want support that put a named person on the chat with a sub-minute advertised wait

Put plainly: BetWinner is the more transparent business and the more demanding bonus. MSport is the more Ghanaian document and the thinner disclosure. If the deciding factor for you is being able to identify and contact the company behind the brand, that is BetWinner today, and MSport could close that gap tomorrow by adding one line to its footer.

There is also a third answer, which is neither of them. If what you actually want is a casino we have funded ourselves, this is not that page. Those operators are ranked and scored on our list of the casinos we have tested with real money in Ghana, and each one states exactly how far our own withdrawal test got, from a timed payout with a reference number to a request we could not place at all.

Checking either operator yourself, in about a minute

  • Scroll to the bottom of the operator’s Ghana site and read the footer. It should name a company, not just a brand, and publish one or more licence numbers.
  • Check the prefix against what you plan to do. GCSB is sports betting. GCCA is casino. If you intend to play slots and see only a GCSB number, stop and ask why.
  • Check the regulator’s name while you are there. It is the Gaming Commission of Ghana. A footer naming something else is not proof of anything, but it tells you how carefully that page was written.
  • Open gamingcommission.gov.gh, go to Licensed Operators and search the trade name. Confirm the operation type matches what you want to play and that the expiry date has not passed. The register does not publish licence numbers, so you are matching the name and the activity, not the number.
  • Search the name more than one way before you conclude anything. A blank result is not a finding until you have tried the other spellings – with and without punctuation, with and without the internal capital, and the first word on its own. Brands write their own names inconsistently and registers record them literally, and we have had a search come back empty on one spelling and return two rows on another.
  • If the operator appears under sports betting but not online casino, that is not proof of wrongdoing. It is a reason to ask the operator directly, in writing, before you deposit.
  • Ignore licence numbers published by review sites, including ours. We saw a Ghana guide still publishing MSport’s 2025 numbers months into 2026. Read the numbers off the operator’s own footer on the day you look.
  • Licensing is one check among several. The rest of what we look at before funding an account is set out in our guide to the checks worth running before your first deposit.

The exact limits of what we verified

  • What is first-hand: both footers, both registration walls, both live chats, both promotion pages, both published rulebooks, and both mobile home pages, captured on 23 September 2026.
  • The register read, and its limits: on 27 September 2026 we read the Commission’s 2026 register through assisted retrieval, because Ghana restricts access from outside the country and our desk is not in Ghana. Both brands appear under Sports Betting and under Online Casino. Five brands whose position we had already established came back exactly as before, which is our check that the read was real. What the register confirms is the trade name and the activity; it publishes no licence numbers, so the specific 2026 numbers above are still the operators’ own. And we publish no row count from this read, because its category totals did not reconcile with its own total.
  • What the older document proves: the Commission’s 2022 published list shows both companies licensed four years ago, with addresses and 2022 numbers. It says nothing about today and we do not treat it as current.
  • A check we ran on one brand only: we read BetWinner’s Android store listing because its footer named a company we could cross-check. We did not run the equivalent check on MSport’s listing, so the corporate table is one row short on that side.
  • What we could not test: deposits, withdrawals, payout speed, real bonus terms inside a live account, game counts, provider lists, KYC turnaround and odds. Nothing here is a payout claim.
  • What we did not publish: third-party figures for MSport’s bonus mechanics and BetWinner’s sports welcome offer. Both circulate widely, both vary by source, and neither is sourced to a documented test.
  • Check it yourself: the Commission publishes its register at gamingcommission.gov.gh under Licensed Operators. If what you see there differs from this page, trust the register, and please tell us so we can correct it.

Responsible gambling

Betting should stay fun. Gambling involves risk and should never be treated as a source of income, and you must be 18 or older to hold an account at either operator. Both publish self-exclusion and limit tools, and both state an 18 plus minimum. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, use those tools or reach out for support through the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s problem gambling referral channels.

Frequently asked questions

Is MSport licensed in Ghana?
MSport’s Ghana site publishes two licence numbers in its own footer, GCSB26R0957A for sports betting and GCCA26S3348H for casino, next to a Gaming Commission of Ghana seal. The same footer credits the approval to a National Gaming Board, which is not the regulator’s name; Ghana’s regulator is the Gaming Commission of Ghana, created under the Gaming Act 2006, Act 721. We checked the Commission’s current register on 27 September 2026 and MSport appears there twice, under Sports Betting and under Online Casino, so the register corroborates both permissions its footer claims, even though the footer names the regulator wrongly.
Is BetWinner licensed in Ghana?
BetWinner’s Ghana site publishes sports betting licence GCSB26Y4779U and casino licence GCCA26J9745N, states that the Gaming Commission of Ghana issued both on 1 January 2026, and names Inter Omega Limited, company registration number CS237471220, as the operator. Inter Omega Limited also appears on the Commission’s list published in 2022, trading as Betwinner, with both a sports betting and a casino licence. We checked the Commission’s current register on 27 September 2026 and BetWinner appears there twice, under Sports Betting and under Online Casino, so both of its 2026 licence claims are corroborated by the regulator’s own list.
Which is better for casino games, MSport or BetWinner?
Neither has been funded or scored by us, so we cannot compare payout speed, game libraries or actual play. On published terms the clearest difference is the bonus. BetWinner’s casino welcome package advertises up to 15,000 GHS and 150 free spins across four deposits, carries 35 times wagering inside seven days, caps stakes at 50 GHS until it clears and excludes roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker from wagering. MSport advertises up to 3,000 GHS across sports and games and keeps its full terms behind a registration wall we could not pass.
Who owns MSport Ghana and BetWinner Ghana?
BetWinner’s Ghana site names Inter Omega Limited, company registration number CS237471220, with a street address in Accra. MSport’s footer names no company at all. The Gaming Commission’s 2022 published list records Mobile Sport Limited trading as Msport, and the same company is named in the announcement of MSport’s Borussia Dortmund partnership, so the entity is identifiable from other records even though the site itself does not name it. Neither operator publishes the ownership above the local company.
What is the MSport Ghana welcome bonus?
MSport headlines a welcome offer of up to 3,000 GHS covering sports and games, listed as ongoing with a published run through 30 September 2029, alongside a daily bonus-back offer on its crash game, a free lucky draw and a daily 50,000 GHS promotion. We could not reach the full terms without a Ghanaian phone number, so we are not publishing a wagering multiplier, a qualifying deposit or an expiry for it. Third-party sites publish all three, they disagree with each other, and none of them are sourced to a documented test.
What is the BetWinner Ghana welcome bonus?
BetWinner’s casino welcome package advertises up to 15,000 GHS and 150 free spins across four deposits: up to 3,000 GHS on a first deposit of at least 100 GHS, then up to 3,500, 4,000 and 4,500 GHS on deposits of at least 150 GHS. The bonus must be wagered 35 times within seven days, single stakes are capped at 50 GHS until it clears, and the free spins are released only after the deposit bonus has been wagered. A separate sports welcome offer is presented at registration and its terms sit behind the account wall.
What is BetWinner’s wagering requirement?
Thirty-five times the bonus amount, according to BetWinner’s own published casino rules, with a seven-day window on the welcome package and a 50 GHS cap on any single stake until the bonus is cleared. Slots count in full toward the requirement, while roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker and titles in the Others section do not count at all. The rules also state that a player who switches between bonus types or declines one loses eligibility for the deposit bonuses that follow, and that withdrawal requests are declined while a bonus is still being wagered.
Do I need a Ghana Card or a passport to register?
At BetWinner the registration form asks for a document type, preset to Ghanaian passport, and a document number, alongside a +233 phone number, a currency, a name and a password. MSport’s form asks only for a +233 phone number before it sends a verification code. Both operators require a Ghanaian mobile number, and that requirement is what stopped us funding an account at either brand.
Can I use MTN Mobile Money at MSport and BetWinner?
MSport displays MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo logos in its own footer, which is the operator’s claim rather than something we confirmed in a funded cashier. BetWinner’s published rules describe deposit and withdrawal methods generically and require withdrawals to return to the method used for the deposit. We do not publish payment method lists we have not seen inside an account, and mobile money transfers can carry network charges whatever the operator’s own policy says.
Do I pay tax on gambling winnings in Ghana?
No. The 10 percent withholding tax on gambling winnings introduced in 2023 was repealed in April 2025 by the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2025, Act 1129, so a payout from a licensed operator reaches you in full. Operators still pay a levy on their own gaming revenue, which does not come out of your winnings. Any page still telling Ghanaian players to expect a 10 percent deduction is out of date.
How fast are withdrawals at MSport and BetWinner?
We have not measured a withdrawal at either brand, because neither would let us open an account without a Ghanaian mobile number. BetWinner’s published rules say requests are processed around the clock and can take up to seven business days depending on the method, with identity checks that can take a further 72 hours. MSport’s terms say withdrawals are paid to the payment account used for the deposit and only in the registered holder’s name. The payout status for both operators on this site is Never placed.
Have you tested MSport and BetWinner yourselves?
Not with money. Both operators require a Ghanaian mobile number to complete registration and BetWinner additionally asks for a Ghanaian identity document, so we could not deposit, bet or request a payout at either. What we did do was work through both registration flows, read both published rulebooks, contact both support teams, capture both footers and compare what each brand publishes about itself against what the Gaming Commission has published. Because we could not open or fund an account, neither brand is scored and neither appears in our rated casino list. We have asked both operators for test accounts and will publish scored reviews if either agrees.

Where this leaves things

BetWinner Ghana publishes more about itself than almost any operator we have checked in this market: a named company, a registration number, an address, two licence numbers and an issue date, plus a bonus mechanism written out in full rather than hinted at. That is not a promise of a fast payout, and we have measured none, but it is the kind of disclosure that lets a player do their own homework.

MSport Ghana publishes the two licence numbers and the regulator’s seal, then stops. No company, no address, and a regulator name that does not exist. Its rulebook is the more Ghanaian of the two and contains one clause we would like to see copied across the market, on segregating customer money. The gap between that clause and the footer is odd, and it is the sort of gap an operator can close in an afternoon.

What happens next: the register check is done, and both brands passed it in both categories. What remains is the test that matters most: we have written to both operators asking for accounts we can fund and cash out. If either agrees, we will run the same protocol we run everywhere else on this site, deposit, play, withdraw, record the times and the reference numbers, and publish a scored review. Until then this page is exactly what it says it is: a disclosure comparison, not a verdict.

About the author · Alex Mensah
Alex Mensah is a co-founder of Best Casinos Africa and leads its casino reviews for Ghana. He spent more than a decade in the iGaming industry, most of it on the operator side, starting in customer support, becoming a support team lead, then moving into affiliate management and finishing as Head of Affiliates for a leading international brand, working only with fully licensed operators. He now uses that inside knowledge to hold casinos to the standard local players actually care about: getting paid, on mobile, safely. Every scored review on this site is built on real-money testing: real accounts, real deposits, a withdrawal attempt wherever the platform allows it, and licence checks against the issuing regulator’s own register, each step documented with screenshots. This comparison is not a scored review, because neither operator would let us open an account without a Ghanaian phone number, and we do not score what we have not tested. It is published on the same evidence rules as everything else here: primary sources, dated, with the limits stated, and where the reason for a limit stops being true we rewrite it even when the limit itself has not moved. 18+ only.
