Pros and cons

Our hands-on test: what actually happened

We do not rate any casino we have not used ourselves, so before scoring 1xBet we opened a real account, funded it, played, and cashed out with our own money on a mid-range Android phone over a normal mobile data connection in Ghana.

Registration. We signed up using the “By phone” flow with a Ghanaian number (+233) and a Ghanaian passport as the ID document. The form asked for the standard details (surname, first name, date of birth, document type and number, city) and let us opt into either the sports or the casino welcome offer at sign-up. Deposit. We funded the account and the payment cleared immediately. Our deposit receipt (Receipt of payment No. 22250566991, amount 16.80 GHS, 24/06/2026 18:21) confirmed the top-up landed with no delay. 1xBet applies no commission on crypto deposits, and the minimum deposit is as low as GHS 1 by card, GHS 10 by e-wallet and GHS 16.81 by crypto, with a GHS 56,000 ceiling.

Withdrawal (the real test). This is where most casinos are separated from the rest. We requested a withdrawal of 16.80 GHS at 18:34 (Request No. 4980726635). The payout was marked completed at 18:44, a real, verified turnaround of about 10 minutes. That is genuinely fast for the Ghanaian market, and it is the single biggest reason 1xBet sits at the top of our list.

It is worth saying plainly what that means next to the rest of our reviews, because it is unusual. This is the only casino on this site where we have a request time, a completion time and a request number for the same payout. Everywhere else we either could not reach the payout stage, watched a request go through without capturing its confirmation, or were blocked outright. Customer support. We opened the live chat during the test to see how quickly a real person would respond. After the bot handoff, an operator (Mateo) joined within 1 to 2 minutes and replied politely in clear English. For a 24/7 support line, that is a strong result, though not the fastest we have recorded: one smaller crypto brand we review answered in under a minute.

Is 1xBet Ghana legal and safe?

Yes. 1xBet operates in Ghana as CLICKWELL GHANA LIMITED and holds two licences issued by the Gaming Commission of Ghana (GCG): Sports Betting Licence GCSB26F1615T and Casino Licence GCCA26S1100P. This matters, because it means 1xBet is not merely an offshore site accepting Ghanaian players, it is licensed by Ghana’s own regulator under the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721), and the legal minimum age to play is 18. Since Ghana scrapped the 10% withholding tax on gambling winnings in April 2025, winnings from a licensed site like this are yours to keep in full. Yes. 1xbet.com.gh is the official Ghana-facing domain, and it is the one operated by CLICKWELL GHANA LIMITED under the Gaming Commission of Ghana licences above. It is also the only address we tested, and every figure on this page comes from that domain.

This matters more than it sounds. 1xBet is one of the most cloned brands in African search results, and mirror sites using near-identical layouts and slightly altered domain names are common. A clone will happily take your Mobile Money deposit; it will not be covered by the Ghanaian licence, and you will have no regulator to escalate to when the money does not come back. Two checks take five seconds:

Speed and performance

Speed matters every time you place a live bet or spin a reel, so we tested it two ways: hands-on during our session, and against Google’s real-user data.

In everyday use on our mid-range Android over 4G, 1xBet felt responsive once open, the sportsbook, casino and 1xGames sections switched without lag, live odds refreshed in real time, crypto deposits credited in under 5 minutes and our cash-out completed in about 10.

For an objective benchmark we also ran 1xbet.com.gh through Google PageSpeed Insights, which reports real Chrome-user data (Core Web Vitals). Here the honest verdict is mixed, and it is a genuine weak point:

1xbet.com.gh fails Google’s Core Web Vitals assessment on mobile. In plain terms: the layout is rock-solid (CLS of 0, nothing jumps around), but the content-heavy homepage is slow to paint and slow to first respond. On a strong connection you likely will not notice; on a weak one, the first open can drag. For scale, this is a much milder failure than the worst we have measured, where one rival posts an 11-second LCP, but a fail is a fail. It is a fair trade-off for a platform cramming 26,000+ games and a full sportsbook into one app, but it is the clearest thing 1xBet should fix, and together with the APK-only Android install it is why the mobile category is this brand’s lowest score.

Mobile app and usability

More than three-quarters of betting in Ghana happens on a phone, so we reviewed 1xBet the way you actually use it. It runs in a mobile browser and offers both an Android APK (installed from the official site, since Google restricts real-money gambling apps on the Play Store, normal and safe from the official link) and an iOS app. It is worth being straight that some rivals we review do publish their Android app on the official stores, so an APK install is a genuine step down on convenience and on clone risk, and our scoring reflects that. The interface packs a lot in and feels busy at first; the trade-off for that depth is a learning curve. Once you know it, the layout is logical and everything, deposit, bet slip, casino, cashier, support, is a tap or two away, but a complete beginner should expect to spend a little time finding their feet.
